The PM² Methodology:

Europe's Methodology

PM² (pronounced “P-M square”) is a Project Management Methodology developed by the European Commission.

The PM² Methodology is the official project management methodology of the EC and is currently being rapidly adopted internationally. It is a lean and easy to implement methodology suitable for any type of project as it enables project teams to manage projects effectively and deliver solutions and benefits to their organisations and stakeholders through the effective management of project work.
PM² incorporates elements from a wide range of globally accepted project management best practices described in standards and methodologies such as PMBOK Guide, PRINCE2®, IPMA-ICB. It also captures operational experience from projects run within the European Institutions.

A versatile and customizable solution fitting any industry, project type and level of experience

Apart from lean and easy-to-use, PM² is also open-source and free, allowing project teams to tailor the methodology according to their needs, while the wide adoption of PM² has been proven to increase the effectiveness, efficiency and success of the thousands of projects and programmes undertaken by European Union Institutions, Member State Public administrations and private organisations. The simplicity of the methodology makes it a powerful tool, suitable for both newbie or experienced project managers, as well as for organisations and companies that wish to start their PM journey but do not have the required tools, resources, and knowledge.
